This project involved a comprehensive dual-site signage rollout for two neighbouring venues in Tweed Heads. Our mission was to act as the primary fabrication partner to revitalise the precinct’s visual identity, moving from outdated, failing displays to high-performance, modern installations. By managing both the South Tweed Tavern refresh and the complete Toby’s rebrand simultaneously, we ensured a cohesive, high-quality finish across the entire building footprint.
The Challenge: Restoring Visibility and Brand Consistency
The primary challenge was the degraded state of the existing tavern signage, where broken components and failed lighting had compromised the venue’s nighttime visibility. We needed to achieve two goals:
- Technical Restoration: Re-engineering large-scale illuminated elements to ensure long-term reliability in the coastal environment for South Tweed Tavern.
- Full-Scale Rebrand: Executing a diverse range of signage for Tobys, from grand-format banners to rigid roof-mounted displays, all while maintaining a consistent brand voice across multiple substrates.
Solution: High-Grade Fabrication and Grand Format Printing
Our team approached this dual project with a focus on durability and precision engineering to ensure both venues stand out 24/7:
- Illuminated Fabrication: For the South Tweed Tavern, we fabricated new 16m x 1m opal acrylic letters. These were integrated with 6500k IP67 high-grade LEDs, selected for their long-life performance and superior weather resistance.
- Large-Scale Carpark Branding: We replicated the tavern’s branding using hardened EPS foam with acrylic faces, measuring 14m x 0.9m, providing a lightweight yet robust solution for high-impact visibility.
- Comprehensive Restaurant Fit-out: For Tobys, we delivered a full suite of grand-format banner skins, including 6.2m x 1.2m wall displays and promotional happy hour banners.
- Specialist Finishing: The rebrand was completed with custom-branded cafe barriers, two new lightboxes, and rigid router-cut signage specifically engineered for roof mounting to maximise exposure.
The Outcome: A Revitalised Tweed Heads Landmark
The final result is a complete visual transformation of the site, restoring the South Tweed Tavern to its full illuminated potential and establishing a bold new presence for Tobys. By upgrading to high-efficiency LEDs and UV-stable materials, we have provided both venues with a durable, low-maintenance signage solution that performs at a high level day and night. This project serves as a prime example of our ability to manage multi-venue rollouts in Tweed Heads, delivering everything from intricate decals to grand-format structural displays.
